Last year, the A+ cut-off for Spesh Exam 1 was 38.5, which means that if you got 39, you'd be "low A+" :\

I'm a person with no hope after reading this post  :(

Why are you always so negative? ??? From the posts you make in the spesh threads, I have no doubt you could have made that cut-off in that exam.

Its the moment I'm not stressed about anything
But in the exam room, I'm always worried. And my brain only works if I feel relaxed
This is proved in my mid-year results actually

i just did the 2008 vcaa exam.... let's just say my brain melted doing it.
Got a 31/40 for exam 1 and a 54/80.
I am positive this is the absolute most difficult exam i have ever done. Any idea what the cut off mark was for that year??

32/40 for exam 1 for A+
66/80 for exam 2 for A+

31/40~38.6
54/80~34.5
Your study score would've been about 37 for that year with similar sacs.
So 45.6 scaled in 2008. Last year a 37 would've been a 48.6.

That would be a great score considering how difficult it felt. Still need a lot more work to do though :).

A hard exam doesn't affect your study score , because the cut-off for a certain score would just be lower.

Is iTute worth doing? for physics i did a few but in the end they were ridiculously off the course in places and didn't help me in the areas i was likely to drop marks in

i know what you mean but with difficult exams i tend to go under the cut off mark a lot more. with easy exams i do quite well usually.

Go Kilbaha and iTute ;)

Bazza, not really, I only did part of one of them. But the top students in my class did iTute as well.

I find that iTute exams are off the course - like if you want to challenge yourself, Kilbaha is the best because it is actually representative of difficult questions which VCAA could fire at you. iTute, you wouldn't expect anything similar on a VCAA exam, so you can do them for the sake of it (challenge) but I don't know if there's any real use.
