I completely agree, so many people sue because they can, because they are opportunistic and because they want a little bit of fame, even when it's their own fault that they are where they are.

For example, the guy suing the ANU in that article, well when the course was changed, EVERYONE was affected, it wasn't just him, so I don't understand why he is entitled to anything more.

My memory isn't great, but there was an article not long ago about some chick that tried to sue her school because they "weren't providing the proper facilities for her education"...I think she moved and ended up getting 99.95.
What frustrates me the most is, why? Don't they have better things to do with their time? Their gaining fame by having ridiculous and irrational views. the type of thing that would be trivialised and outsourced to "A Current Affair" :P

Hmm, yeah there was an article where some chick who couldn't write for extended periods of time wasn't given a scribe, even though she ended up getting a 99.95.

I don't think there's much reason to sue other people the way these people are, but I think I do understand it from their perspective as well, we live in an extremely competitive society and wherever we can rightfully get a foot up, there are always going to be people who take advantage of that.

True, but what advantage could one possibly get besides receiving an Atar of 99.95?

They either have too much time on their hands or are just plain ignorant.
