Dictionary with Synonyms but not a Thesaurus

Hi all,

A lecturer told us to look for a dictionary that contains synonyms at the end of the definition, but is not advertised as a thesaurus, to avoid re-using the same words over and over in the exam.

I have started compiling a list of words and then synonyms that i constantly use during my Text Responses and context pieces so I can minimise using such as dictionary if i find one, but was just wondering if anyone knew of a specific brand and edition that contained this?

Any help much appreciated,
Thanks in advance

I would strongly advise against trying to improve your vocabulary on the day like that. Words have many intricate and subtle meanings, which are best discovered through encountering them many times before the exam. By using a word that the dictionary says means the same thing as another, you may be conveying a subtly different meaning, or the word might just stand out unfavourably.
However, if you are still interested in one, this one seems to try to overcome the aforementioned problem.
