ideas on how to organise textbook for use as bound reference??

Hey guys,

I've decided to use my textbook as my bound reference for the exams and I know that VCAA doesn't want us putting foldouts or tabs on it.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I would make the textbook easier to use during the exam?

If we cant use tabs, do you guys know how I could mark the important pages and make em easier to find/access?Would sticking in cardboard dividers work...?

You could paste tiny squares of paper on top of each other so it eventually forms a cube-like shape. Just enough to create a raised platform to show you were your chapters are. Might be illegal lol.
Or you could write in an index lol
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

You're not allowed tabs in the sense that they can't stick outside of that A4 area. You can cut the corners of the book to form "tabs"

Page 6, have a look over the bound reference rules again:
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vceexamnav12.pdf

It states that you can cut page corners, and when it talks about tabs not being allowed, it uses the term "removable tabs".

laseredd what do you mean by cutting the corners to form tabs? For example, if I had the page for circle of transformations that i wanted to be accessible, what would i do?
Or does it only work for large amounts of pages?
It'd probably work better for a few pages at a time, where it'd be quite noticeable that there's a slight gap in the book. If you wanted multiple sections, you could just alternate which part of the book you're cutting off.

Thanks for the link to the bound reference info - because it talks about staples being binding - do you think if I had plastic tabs that stick out, but I stapled them to the pages - would that be allowed?
I would probably lean towards that's not allowed if they stick out. It has to be A4/book sized when it's closed.

Also there's no need to post multiple times in a row, just use the Modify function if you decide you have more to say immediately afterwards.
