Clean up the "Jump To" drop-down menu

(1/1)

VivaTequila:
Languages take up so much of the total number of subforums, but they probably receive the least traffic because there's a limited number of stududents studying them, let alone the subset of those students who use AN and collaborate actively on the subject.

An counter argument that I'm envisioning is that "they are subforums, the jump-to bar is meant to list all of the subforums for ease of access". But it's not ease-of-access if it's completely clogged.

Similarly, I don't think people typically use the "Jump To" feature to go to the 2007 archived discussion. Maybe, but not frequently.

Perhaps modifications for something that's a little more practicable could be the case? I think either:

1. Remove some links from the jump-to menu which will not obviously get a lot of traffic in lieu of making the overall process, on average, much more efficient
2. Shuffle the links around to form a different but still logical order, whereby you can easily scroll to exactly what you need without scrolling over a billion different irrelevant things that nobody uses
3. (for the benefit of mods only) Put the public recycle bin somewhere that's not obscure and in the middle

Case in point: WACE Swedish is not a typical forum I (or anyone else) would jump to. I've just scrolled and picked a random forum. It shouldn't be there.
