Fast and check more or slow?

For Exam 1 I currently need <30 min and for Exam 2 <90 min.
Is it better if I do them fast like I am currently doing or should I try to do the questions slower in order to avoid mistakes?

A lot of people try to do them as fast as possible to have time to check, but I think it is best to find a pace that allows small time for checking, but making sure you don't make the mistakes in the first place. If you don't make mistakes, you don't have to check! :)

I would say with anything it always pays to do things slower when you're learning something.  Given that you have a month until the exam you have time to work on your knowledge, and speed will come naturally afterwards.

If you can comfortably do exams with half an hour to spare you should slow down a bit, but not too much so that you have to rush at the end. Do you make many mistakes as it is? What scores have you been getting?

Close to full-marks. But I normally don't check more than once.
How fast did you finished your exam?

Btw, remember that in the real exam you can't work anywhere near as fast.

For methods, I finished both exams with minutes to spare, even though I knew I could (at full speed) finish them both in about 75% of the time. It's a combination of nerves, being more careful in general...etc.

I didn't leave much time left in exam 2, probably around 5 mins or less (the point being I made sure did everything correctly the first time around, not that that's a piece of cake but you get what I mean). I can't remember how much time I had left in exam 1.

@ FlorianK: even on company exams you've been getting close to full marks for exam 2? Which ones have you been doing - all the hard ones, VCAA ones or just a random mix of easy and hard?

Good luck Florian! Hope you can get 50 for methods and AN can be proud of you :)

The more I do, the more I get worse. Quite disappointed about myself though
