Edit again: actually, from what Scooby just said, I'm gathering that 'cold' and flu' are the same in this context. My bad!    I always see a cold as different from a flu hence why I placed 'flu' in exhaustion' and 'cold' in resistance. In this instance, they are both considered minor and they both go in resistance.

In resistance, it's more likely that the person will develop illnesses that are caused viruses, bacteria, etc, simply because suppression of immune function reduces the ability of the body to fight infection. They're going to be more susceptible to very minor illnesses. If you're given anything that relates to the cold or flu, for example, then it's definitely resistance.

Any sort of serious illness that is the result of "wear and tear" tends to be a sign of exhaustion. If you see anything like heart disease, then the person is definitely in exhaustion. Minor illnesses could also occur in exhaustion, but if there's no mention of serious illness, then it's most likely resistance

I believe that the GAS occurs over a long period of time, hence because flu and colds are a minor illness in comparison to cancer or major auto-immune diseases they are not part of the exhaustion stage. most likely the resitance stage because immune function has dropped. it requires continuous stressors over a long period of time to intiate the exhaustion stage, thats my take
