brenden:
Ah! You might not even have a piano player as one of your assessors! For all they know everything you did was deliberate :)
You're very welcome, that's what AN's for =]
nisha:
I don't want to be the poop of the party, but may I remind you that the performance is worth 50% of your overall score whilst the exam is worth 20-25%. When I did mine, I thought I did great, but apparently I made one too many mistakes and since the competition in piano is very high, I received a performance grade of C+, despite working consistently with 3 hours practise everyday. I had a sac average of A+, and received a B+ on my written exam, but ended up with a 29, which scaled down to 28. I just wanted to mention this, not to dishearten you but so you are aware of what can potentially come your way. Then again, it depends on your definition of "stuffed up". Just let it go....and try your best, thats what i did.
Hancock:
Remember, it's all about your definition of 'screwing up.' I did violin for Music Solo 3/4 in Year 11 and I didn't play my first song as well as I could. However, this was only due to some minor technical errors looking back, but I was/am kind of a perfectionist when it came to music performance. However, I (imo) absolutely demolished my other pieces and ended by with a 41.
You may think that you played bad, but in fact you may have played really well in the examiners eyes. It is worth 1/2 your grade, so it does impact it a lot. All the best.
Yendall:
Just reiterating what Nisha said, it is a large bulk of your mark. I thought I played okay-ish in my performance and I ended up with a B+. Followed by a B+ on my exam scored me a 33 SS. In my opinion, it's a bad study score and I'm sure your views may slightly differentiate between what is good and what is bad, and the same with your performance. You may think you stuffed up, but it may not have been as noticeable as you think. The reality is that you need to essentially forget about it, it's over. Study hard for the theory exam and make sure you keep a clear head! Good luck, I know what it feels like to be in your position, and the last thing you want to do is stress over something that is finished.
