What sort of scores have people been getting on practice exams , and what exams do people think are more difficult than others

Neap are always a lot harder than the actual exam, you probably know that though. Did one of them with my school and awaiting my results.  :-\

The solutions to LisaChem 2007 for the learning section just made me angry... the questions weren't answered themselves (e.g. there's a difference between giving the 'definition' and 'differences' for maturation, fixed action patterns etc...anyways - highly recommend you don't try that one  :P)

For practice exams so far I've only really been attempting the short answer questions, and not doing the multiple choice as yet, since I'm trying to commit everything to memory, because for psych there is just SO much content ~ in short, I'm not scoring them just yet.

I've yet to meet a difficult exam, or maybe I'm just feeling this way because the questions I've done are so repetitive that it's classed as being more 'boring or tedious' as oppose to 'difficult'. But yeah, I've heard Neap exams are pretty challenging too.

The multiple choice on the STAV exams are quite confusing and tricky

Who's actually properly started practice exams here?
I've done the VCAA 02-09 (past study design) for Learning as well as all Checkpoints for Mental Health, and I've done Neap MC and SA questions from the Smartstudy Guide. I'm on the Sample Exam atm, just finished MC and I'm planning doing the rest over the next few days, to perfect my answers and stuff. Then once I've done that, I plan to go exam style and do the rest of the exams I have.
I'm just finding it hard to decide what to do... I've already gone over the whole course and I know it all pretty well, but I need to go over some of my weak bits again and revise the whole course again (mainly glossary) to perfect my definitions and stuff. That's what's holding me back from doing practice exams, because if I don't know the content well, I won't do as well on the practice exams, if you get me.. So what should I do, and what are you all doing?

I have, although I've only done 2 so far. I find doing individual questions not as motivating for some reason.

You know you can do trials and still revise (go over notes etc) simultaneously right? The earlier you you start practice exams the more you can get done. And plus doing trials, even when you dont think you're ready, can really help in knowing exactly what you need to relearn and consolidate your knowledge in areas of weakness.
So I guess I'm just operating under that logic (definitions definitely worry me though.)

I've done a STAV practice exam, got around 70%.

Lost 15% in MC, and 5% on the final section.

It seems that research methods and multiple choice are both weak areas for me.

If I remember correctly from last year, I thought STAV exams could be the most challenging for psych! and the Insight exams/sometimes TSSM could be the most similar to VCAA. That said, last year's unit 4 STAV exam (extended response section C) was eerily similar to the one in the actual unit 4 vcaa exam  :o So obviously, best to do them all, regardless of whether they're 'challenging' or not :)

....wouldn't that mean you got 80% all up? :/

There are three sections of Psychology Nisha, MC, Short answer and extended response. Daniel would have lost 10% in the short answer unless he made a typo in the first line.

70 + 15 + 5 = 90% (lost 10% in short answer).

Correct! :)

That's the one! Apart from the MC, I didn't find it too challenging, I thought it was relatively easy and expected a better result - if I got those questions on exam day, I'd be very happy.
