BIOLOGY: 89% average in SACS, ranked 2nd in a weak cohort and an A on the exam. What SS would I be looking at?
Don't worry about scores that you can't change  because there are so many more productive things you could do

<40 is my guess (I haven't guessed many so take it with a grain of salt!). I say this mainly because of the exam score, you'd usually have to get above an A to get in the 40's especially if it's a weak cohort :)
2015 ATAR: 99.25

Depends on what type of A it is.

Very high A (like 1-2 marks below A+) and assuming that you got ranked unfairly (that is, you're ranked 2 but there's people better than you below you), you'll get 40-42.

High A, ranked fairly 37-39

Low A, ranked fairly ~35

Just a reminder that averages tell us nothing, so just specifying the rank and strength of cohort is enough! :)

39-42, depending on how 'low' that A+ is

Most likely 36-38, but there have been some people who managed to pull of a 40-41 with a very high-end A on the exam ( provided the fact that their SAC marks got scaled up pretty well). :)
