What gets you to sleep!?
saheh:
Hey everyone
Firstly I dunno if this is on the correct board
If you're anything like me...then the stress is probably building up as as you try to sleep you have a million things racing through your mind
How do you put this tension aside and be able to drift off??
I've tried a bit if meditation and breathing, I'm listening to a bit of instrumentals/impro jazz quietly which is very calming but not putting me to sleep
But it's just not working
What's your tips!!???
Sleep easy buddies

I usually sleep at 4-5am out of exhaustion, so I usually sleep well. However, I find the following useful if I am having trouble:
1) My uni gave me this CD that has one of my lecturers talking for about an hour. It's brilliant, absolutely brilliant. His voice is sooooooo boring that I just have to fall asleep to avoid listening haha. N.B. the CD was intended for something educational/stress-reducing -> mindfulness.
2) Leave the AM radio on

SBS weatherwatch. I have been watching it since year 7. In bed looking at all of those beautiful places in the world gets me to sleep easy. Even better when I can hear the sound of rain while watching it.
Special At Specialist:
I go to bed late so that I'm already really tired, then I do 50 pushups until I'm puffed out and want to sleep even more. Only after my body is practically begging me to sleep will I go to bed.
