AN study guide or A+ notes?
« on: December 17, 2012, 12:22:19 pm »

Hey all,
I'm thinking of buying the legal AN guide today, but I'm just reconsider A+ notes, because a lot of people have recommended it as well.
Which one is the better buy in terms of quality of notes & questions? And which is more worth the money?

Please let me know ASAP
Thanks! :)

Get the atarnotes one
What's your justification behind that? Because I'm most probably getting it but I need to have a good reason to be getting it

My iPhone is spazzing so everything got jumbled up and it's too hard to rearrange lmao, but just move some words around and my justification is below

The atarnotes book has a complete set of concise, original notes written and edited by law students who did very well in the subject very recently, and therefore they are able to offer a perspective/method in their books which isn't the stock standard way of being taught things. We've developed our books so that they're different  in approach to other companies. In addition to that there are original vcaa style questions with detailed step by step approached rather than a simple broad marking scheme.

A+ notes are generally the better of mainstream VCE books but atarnotes is here to offer something different to what you get through your school, trial exams etc.

If its really bothering you, invest in both, you get one shot at VCE so just go all out. In honesty though I think our books are pretty much the best in terms of actually getting something new out of all the additional resources available.

I write the CPAP Study Guide, so I say of course give that one a shot :)

I also wrote the Jacaranda online StudyON guide, so you should definitely download that for the free trial to see if you like it; it has over 500 questions and I wrote answers and guides for each of them (yes, my life was sucked out of me by the end of it...).
[Update: full for 2018.] I give Legal lectures through CPAP, and am an author for the CPAP 'Legal Fundamentals' textbook and the Legal 3/4 Study Guide.
Available for private tutoring in English and Legal Studies.
Experience in Legal 3/4 assessing; author of Legal textbook; degrees in Law and English; VCE teaching experience in Legal Studies and English. Legal Studies [50] English [50] way back when.
Good luck!

Legal A+ Notes is a must I believe. By the end of this year I was mainly just working out of that and neglected my textbook. Everything is just so well explained and simplified in legal notes. Get it ASAP!

Grrr, they're upgrading the site at the moment so it's not working fully, but here is the link for reference: http://www.studyon.com.au/

I'm currently in the middle of updating the CPAP Study Guide, though - and this year CPAP has decided to sell bulk packs of past SACs with fully-worked answer guides and sample answers. You get the past three years' worth or so pretty cheaply. Darnit, I need to go through and check those, too!!

Back to work...
