Delusion Within Schizophrenia Question

Hey guys,

I've made note of various delusions associated with schizophrenia - eg: Delusion of Persecution, Delusion of Reference, Delusion of Control, etc.

Is it a necessity to know these for the exam? I understand we need to know what a delusion is, but do I need to know it to that extent of depth?

Thanks

Yes you do need to know all these types of delusions.

It is unlikely they will ask you about them, as 2012/2011 papers seem to generally ask the biological cause/psych cause/socio cause and treatments of schizophrenia, but you DO need to know all these types of delusions.  :)

From the papers I've done, they've never really asked any questions specific to that.
They're more general ones like give an example of a positive/negative symptom of Schizophrenia.
But i guess having a rough idea about the different types of delusions is usefull, perhaps remember a few obvious ones that are stereotypically involved with schizophreniacs eg. delusions of persecution or grandeur.
Knowing the deffs of the symptoms is important though.

Know them briefly.

Yeah - you only need to remember about one sentence for each anyway. Plus, these types of delusions are quite easy to understand anyway and thus remember, so I don't see what the issue is.
