VCAA psychology sample questions?

So I did the MCQ of the sample exam and there were some really odd answers that seem wrong to me There are some questions about the discriminative stimulus ...what is a discriminative stimulus? I use the grivas text so there was nothing about it...

I went for B - why is the answer C ?
B seems right because the hippocampus is involved in associative learning and the amygdala is involved in fear conditioning - emotional learning...

The psychodynamic model proposes that simple phobia is due to
A. unresolved physiological trauma.
B. innate biological and genetic factors.
C. unresolved conflicts that emerge during the phallic stage of development.
D. anger towards a person’s mother or father that is transferred to an object, animal or situation.

Why would the answer be D ?? I went for C which is based on the psychodynamic model...

The amygdala has the biggest role in CC, hence why the answer is C.

You are right with question 38. I think VCAA made a mistake and a few people have confirmed this. Good work.

I disagree on 38. You said you have the grivas text, have you read through about all the frued stuff on castration anxiety being displaced toward object. The phobia develops in the phallic stage. The unresolved conflicts do not emerge in this stage they are formed during it. I think D is a more indepth explanation

I guess but the displacement occurs not due to ANGER which confuses me. Anywho, we aren't getting that exact question on the exam so we're good.
