Trouble with learning - Help!

Behaviours most resistive to extinction are those that have been maintained by a:
A. Variable interval schedule
B. Variable ratio schedule
C. Fixed ratio schedule
D. Fixed interval schedule

What would your answer be and why?

im not 100% sure as im still pretty shady with partial schedules of reinforcment  8) haha

but i believe the answer is B variable ratio. This is because the individual's behaviour is maintained through the unpredictability of the reward. so they dont know when they are going to be rewarded for their behaviour so the response is maintained. This is the key schedule behind gambling, and why its difficult for them to stop (studied depression not gambling through so not quite sure on the specifics)

If it were a short answer question, undeniably I would write, either Variable-Interval or Variable-Ratio.

However, I believe the most correct answer in this circumstance is Variable-Ratio.

Yep, variable ratio!
