How to handle 8-mark questions
norunomu:
Easy to follow guide for answering the 8-mark questions!!
This is worth 10% of the whole exam so it'd be wise to memorise how this works! RDBMS looks easiest to me but do whatever you're comfortable with.

Good luck... hope you've studied more than I have...
Lucid:
Yeah, database does look easier as you don't have to worry about formulas as much, I think?
Still not sure what I'm going to do, I'll decide when I see the question!
lala1911:
Good stuff thanks

The 8 mark question was poorly answered in 2011 VCAA Exam, so what do the examiners do? Make it into a 9 mark question in 2012!
Who knows The high mark Question could be 8-10 Marks this year 2013.
The stupid thing is that, the 2012 9 Mark question was not worth the 9 Marks at all. Rather Question 9 from the 2012 VCAA Exam would have been a more appropriate 9 Mark question as it asked you to normalize the data into a Entity Relationship Diagram and then explain the diagram. The explanation took about 1 and a half boxes to write.
lala1911:
I hope its not on normalisation.
Its a bit unfair to those students who prefer Spreadsheets over Databases. If they are going to have a 9 marker for Databases only, they should have a 9 marker for Spreadsheets only or don't have one at all.
