OK, So I happen to be going through the sample exam for the new study design.

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/chemistry/Chemistryexamsample.pdf

Question 9 of the Multiple choice.

Clearly
Bond A is a hydrogen bond (Secondary, also possibly tertiary. BUT NO WAY ITS PRIMARY)
Bond B is a disulphide bridge (Tertiary),
Bond C is a covalent Bond (Primary)

So either Im seriously wrong, or VCAA forgot to double check their solutions lol

I believe (strongly) that the answer should be B, however VCAA said it's D

P.S All other multiple choice solutions seems to be correct though

I went D first glance on the basis of bond B (disulfide link) which is secondary and D is the only answer that contains that. Would have got lucky :p

EDIT: Just read your whole post. I didn't know S-S was tertiary...? But it's been a long time since u3 chem ::)

Disulfide bonds are secondary for sure. I don't think any of those options are correct imo.

edit: upon googling, disulfide bonds can be either secondary or tertiary, hence B is probably the most correct answer.

I think they're tertiary.

I think they're tertiary.

Edited my post, it seems they can be either depending on the protein.

Well even if we can have disulfide linkages in secondary structure as well. There's no way Bond A is in primary structure

What I found most surprising was labelling C as anything but Primary haha
