Odette:

--- Quote from: "maxleng" ---k so i did them..

Core:
A, B, B, B, C

Geo:
D, C, C,

Bus Math:
D, C, B,

Networks:
B, A
--- End quote ---

I did the core, geo, and bus man, i dont do networks ...

I got:
Core-
A,B,B,B,C
Geo-
A,C,C
Bus-
D,C,B

maxleng:
joechan521 i think i got it,

becuase P is 152T its 62 past 90 where as M is 52 behind 90 (imagine 90 as being perpendicular with O) so that means P is closer to the vertical and M more 'further out' given there the same length..

i just had problem on which would be futher out the M or the P, geting the bearings from that is easy, thanks!

edit: oddete

i dont see how u got C for q4,core... did u do .5675 x (67.98/8.67) ??

and geo q1, x = 34.6/tan(23) ??

--- Quote from: "Defiler" ---Okay Odette, here is your chance to help me out.

I just did the VCAA 2006 paper (part 1) and got 36/40.

The questions I got wrong were...

Core - Q10
Number Patterns - Q6, Q9
Matrices - Q7

No questions incorrect for graphs, which is comforting.

So... if you could guide me through those questions it would much appreciated, thanks!

CORE 10
its asking for april
so therefore you get 3 data from march april and may which are 35,99,75
find the average [35+99+75]/3 about 70 therefore C

MATRIX 7
many ways to do it

graph the 2 equations
if they intersect = a unique solution
2 parallel lines = no unique solution

or other way to do it.
rearange the 2 equations in y=mx+c form
if same gradient = no unique solution

Defiler:
Thanks joechan... added them in my 'notes' part of the textbook. Now for those number pattern ones Odette =]

Ok well I'm not too sure about the matrices question, but I can help you with the others...

CORE-
10. C
35+95+75=205
205/3=68.333
which is closest to 70

Number Patterns-
6. E
t15=12 x 1.03 ^14
t15=18.2

9.E
S∞ = a/1-r , a=0.4, r= 0.95
S∞ = 0.4/1-0.95
     = 8
=> 73.4 + 8
    = 81.4

Sorry about that...
Hope the others make sense, if they don't let me know
