HCl reacted with 10.0g of calcium carbonate to produce 2.00L of CO2 at STP.

It is possible to conclude ..

A) the calcium carbonate was in excess
B) the HCl was in excess
C)the reaction did not go to completion
or
D) there were equal moles of reactancts

Thanks!

n(CO2) = 2/22.4 = 0.089 mol

n(CaCO3) = 0.1 mol

both A and C can be correct

You could argue A is 'more correct' (i love that expression)
