Why do you need a character guide..?

to understand the characters........ because im not going to read the book until we do in class

If I were in your position I would read all of your texts during the holidays, or at the very least the ones you are going to be studying in first semester.

Whoever told you not to gave you bad advice. Read the books!

Personally I mostly relied on in class discussions.

This is invaluable. Highly recommend you buy it. It's probably the only Study Guide on the market worth having for Henry .

York Notes Advanced for $15 is extremely beneficial.

Your text will have some good, basic discussion as well.  If you want gain a perspective on the characters, i would watch some or all of the film versions out there.  Whilst they will make you fall asleep, they give a great insight into the attitude and personality of the characters-something which is difficult to see initially when reading Shakespeare.

yes i did and i got 49 in english...i do have quite a few notes, resources and a lot of essays however i will be tutoring the subject i'm not willing to post them publicly at the moment.  PM me if you are interested in being tutored, otherwise i am more than happy to answer any questions you have about the text or correct essays.
