Y12 Chemistry Help!

Hey, so first piece of Y12 Chemistry and I'm stuck!
I'm really confused with a question. So we did a titration of vinegar to determine acetic acid content (pretty standard stuff)
For the actual concentration in mol/L I got 0.687M, so that was fine...
Then the next question said to multiply by molar mass of acetic acid to get a g/L amount, so that was fine.... (41.2g/L) but then it said to work out conc. in g/1000g when the density of the vinegar is 1.00g/mL. I'm so confused, isn't 1000g, 1000mL and 1000mL ---> 1L??? wouldn't it just be the same thing, g/L to g/1000g because density is 1.00g/mL? I thought this, but I'm not sure if that's naive on my behalf and I'm being stupid, could someone help me with this?
