How is the coursework component of Physics calculated?

Hopefully this is the right thread for this.
For the new curriculum, the marking is 60% for the exam and 40% for coursework stuff. With the 40%, how is it calculated? I know for further it is done by a ranking in the school  with some special stuff added from exam results. Is physics similar to that?
