From memory you accept it upon enrolling in the course once you get the offers and such, theres a section of WES when you finally get there that you put the number in and such. Although that was last year, (and I didn't get to go to the scholarship cermony because mine was excellence and equity, not just excellence), so unless there is something extra you have to do for the excellence one, I think thats the way it goes. Maybe give them a ring, just in case, theres no harm in doing that and you can make sure that way too.

Anyways, congrats on the scholarship! :D

EDIT: I think this was the number for the Scholarship Unit at Monash, although I'm not sure if thats just for people currently on a scholarship or not.

Now that I think about it again, I think we might have accepted the scholarship through WES before enrolling, which had the instructions of how to get onto it in the letter that came. Ring up just in case my memory has failed me if the letter doesn't come. Sorry about that, only just remembered.

Yeah, I think there was an online process long before enrollment. The instructions were in the letter that arrived a few days after results.

Yeah, like WonderBunny said I got a letter from Monash with information on how to accept it officially :)

Although it didn't seem to work for me (it didn't recognise my details when I entered them), so I called them up and they were able to do it manually on my behalf.

Out of curiosity, are the excellence scholarships based solely on ATAR or do they also take into account the VTAC scholarship applications (where you write about your leadership/community service etc skills and how the scholarship would benefit you)?

I think the excellence scholarships are based solely on ATAR, since I don't have any community service etc and I put absolutely no effort into writing how the scholarship would benefit me :P

yes they are based on ATAR (in most cases), for faculty excellence scholarships, essentially its given to the highest ATAR student applying for that course (depending on how many they give out), eg, for the business and economics faculty they only tend to give out 1 per every year, sometimes 2, it depends.

Out of interest, were you given a faculty scholarship, or a monash excellence scholarship for any course?

Interesting - thanks guys!

And yeah when I called up they mentioned a lot of people were having issues accepting their scholarship, so it's all good :)
