Biomed scholars program + scholarships

Just had a few questions I wasnt sure about.

I received a high enough atar (99.5) to get into the scholars program for Biomed at monash...but I didn't put it on my preference list at all because i assumed 99+ was impossible for me. Is it still ossible to get into the course, and if so, is a scholarship for it still receivable?

Another question is.. apart from text, what other ways do they notify you of scholarships? I'm overseas at the moment so it's a bit hard =/ are all the scholarships such as merit etc handed out all on the day results come out?

Just taking in my options before my change of preferences is due haha.
