Not exactly sure.  But try 27 and 28 December to see if they are back.

Christmas shutdown period

The University will be closed for Christmas from 5pm on Friday December 21 2012 and will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 2 January 2013. During this period, the Student Portal will be accessible as normal. However, the help desk will be closed. Should you need individual assistance, you can contact 13 MELB (13 6352) from 2 January.
