Thank you very much for that, that helps a lot :)

So given you are restricted with what science units you can major in with aero/sci double, those being either physics or math to my understanding, if I decided I didn't like physics then I would basically have to major in maths as my whole science component of the double degree? And do you know exactly why the general consensus is that physics in uni is shit? Just boring? to difficult? to easy?
Unless if you really like physics, I suggest doing a double maths major or astrophysics major. Monash prob have some of the worst physics lecturer. Ever.

Nah Scott Findlay and Susan Feteris was the best lecturers that we had. Ever.

But yes, she was superb. Fun fact, I nearly photobombed that picture

In the single degree for Aerospace engineering, there is the requirement for foundation chemistry if you didn't do VCE chemistry. But in the double degree I can't find it there. I'm assuming I will still have to do it?

if this is the case, I'm literally dead..It's been 3 years that I haven't touched chemistry...I will be destroyed.

Don't worry CHM1011 is fairly easy at the start.

That being said I am having the idea of dropping BSc in my mind atm.

Because of workload? And also I have another question. I just checked your vce subjects and I got the same mark as your ESL mark. Do you write long reports or any type of long writing? Are they hard for a student who got 39 for ESL?

I don't think that it is a core in either degrees but I HIGHLY recommend that you do it if you haven't done VCE chem before. There's alot of presumed knowledge in chem for units like MAE2400- materials engineering and MAE2402- thermodynamics and heat transfer than will be really difficult without at least a basic understanding in chemistry.

Yes it's true for aerospace engineering (and any other engineering) that there will be alot of reports to write. However, with a 39 in ESL you should be reasonably fine with those. You need to adapt to writing in scientific form and once you get the hang of it it's easy. You also always get someone to proof read your report for grammar errors. Some of the reports are group work too and for this you might want to think about who you team up with. (If its not pre allocated)

PHS1011/PHS1022 = lab report but they are not that bad.
Other than that there is not much writing

Nah not workload (seeing how I am still on 4.0GPA after 1st year) , but I am starting to feel whether I am actually that interested in Maths and Computer Science.

The price of doing a double degree for me is  1 year extra (does not matter for me) and loss of 4 final year engineering electives which most of them interests me. Therefore I am still weighing up the benefits and the price.

CHM1011 isn't Foundation Chemistry though?
And it's not *that* easy :P
EastsideR/SenriAkane is just a think-tank ^-^

On the plus side of physics, you'll probably get Kevin Pimblett as a lecturer in first year on dyanmics who is amongst the best lecturer in the uni. Also, Michael Morgan is a good lecturer in QM who sometimes gets too excited lecturing...

Amen

Had friends who did the foundation chem unit because they didn't do chem in yr 12, and well, from looking at what they were doing, it was reall easy, (this is ENG1070) it was kinda a joke of a unit tbh...., the unit didn't seem to cover everything it was supposed to. I suppose thats what happens when you get a lot of people who dislike chem in the same room and try to make them do so chem. But then that could just be once off.

But yeh, in the single degree its an elective, and I don't think (not 100% sure) that its required in the double, but as JinXi said having a little bit of chem knowledge will help with parts of the MAE2400 materials unit, I knew what was happening with certain things in the lecture while my friends who didn't do chem had no clue why certain things happened, and kinda just applied it blindly.
