Do unis know our ATARs already? I mean how can they reject or retain your application without knowing?

I'd say it's just because all of the unis listed aren't (or don't feature heavily) on my preference list and are therefore not going to be offering me a scholarship because I won't be going to them. Re ATARs I'm just hoping for 90... if I get that I'll be over the moon, I don't really care about my course anymore. I can transfer after a year of hard work anyway (and besides, I'd much rather do extra well at uni than at school).

is anyone else consciously trying to demotivate themselves and lower their expectations  so they're less likely to be shattered on monday if their scores are shit? :P

All the way dude.

Now I'm telling myself, "it's ok if you get a 30 or below. All part of the process."

Better to underestimate than over. :P

Ah I HATE that about Australian buses. In Europe pretty much all of them have a screen that tells you which stops are next. Ie:

I wouldn't really care if I knew where I was going, but when I was in Geelong for the revision lectures it was an absolute nightmare (just one example). Ended up having to walk a block because I got off too early in expectation.

Yep agreed. And anyway, if you get <30 you're still with half the people who took the subject.
vce:
2013: Further [50] (+Premier's) | Methods [48]
2014: Physics [50] | Specialist | Accounting | English Language || ATAR: 99.70 + Australian Student Prize!
uni:
2015: Bachelor of Commerce and Engineering (Honours)

yep
not only that its really really hard to get super low scores like less than 20 if you at least tried in a subject a little bit. there are alot of people at the bottom end who come from weak cohorts who get 1 or 2 marks in each assessment only and they clog up the low ends
so people needn't let pessimism let you believe otherwise :P

To be honest I was pretty shattered when I found out that the Latrobe "Melbourne" campus is in Bundoora. Seriously.. just call it the Bundoora campus.
aah same!! The only uni near me is vic uni, basically ensuring I have to travel to the city or further. I feel for all of the regional kids.

Haha yeah try six hours. But nah, I only had to drive ~20 minutes each day to and from school. Next year I'll be at college so that's like a five min walk to the uni.
