Hello all, I'm currently overseas atm and will miss out on the first AAD. I called the uni and they said I should attend AAD2, but is the deadline for domestic students to lock in subjects before the date of AAD2?

Based on

http://ask.unimelb.edu.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/5046/~/subject%2Fcourse-change-deadlines

The last day for enrollment online is March 15th which is after AAD2.

Sorry the date I gave you was the date at which you can change subjects. You don't need to go to AAD to enrol in subjects.

If you are overseas and attend the AAD2, they will be able to enrol in the subjects for you if you have informed them that you were overseas. However, If you have access to your enrolment pack, or someone from home does, you will be able to enrol in subjects online before AA1 and before the 1st of Feb after you have accepted your offer.

Ok thanks but if I enrol in late (AAD2), will I have less choice in which periods I choose to attend my lectures, etc?
ie. Will some lectures at particular times be full because I got in late?

No, there are two release dates for timetables:
Semester 1:
1st release
Monday 4 Feb 2013
2nd release:
Monday 25 Feb 2013
So it should be fine.
