Subject Enrolment

I'm so effing confused.  :'(

So I'm doing commerce and I've chosen my actuarial studies stream. Now a whole list of subjects come up and I have to choose when I want to undertake these right? So how many subjects can I fit in during a single semester? And does it matter the order in which I undertake these subjects (ie. should some subjects be taken in semester 1)?

And do I have to enrol in all the subjects listed? I see that some subjects such as business finance, probability, intro to actuarial studies don't have the drop down box asking me when I to study them.

four subjects each semester, which usually includes a breadth subject. Some subjects are offered in both sem one and two others are only offered for a single semester. The easiest way to find this out is by checking the unimelb handbook online and searching for your subject there. For now I would enrol in your subjects for your first year, remember you can always change these later.

http://fbe.unimelb.edu.au/csc/planning/bcomplanner
look at page 12, it sets out what you really need to do in all your years because Actuary has subjects that will give you exemption given you achieve a certain mark.
So Sem 1
Intro Micro, Accelerated Maths 1, Accounting Reports and Analysis (for exemption), Breadth
Sem 2
Intro Macro, Accelerated Maths 2, Introductory to Financial Accounting (for exemption), Introductory to Actuarial studies
Have a look a the planner :)

So am I only selecting subjects for Year 1 atm? Because I can't select any level 2 or 3 subjects.

you only need to select subjects for year 1. You just have to be aware of the second year and third year subjects you want to do to satisfy the relevant prerequisites in  year 1

But as long as I follow the sample subject selection given in the handbook, I should meet all prerequisites right?

I guess you would just have to do all the subjects that are highlighted as either compulsory subjects or actuarial subjects

(Not 100% though since I don't do commerce)
