DNA fingerprinting question

Just a few questions here..

In the method of DNA fingerprinting, does the DNA amplification prcoess using PCR step come before cutting the DNA using restrictive enzymes? or is it the other way round? or can it be both?

Also, do immersion in radioactive probes have to be after the separation gel electrophoresis process?

Thanks

DNA is amplified first using PCR, then cut into fragments by restriction enzymes => then to electrophoresis

dont forget that it has to be shone in UV light to see where the cuts are

1. restriction enzymes break DNA into fragments
2. separation by electrophresis
3. immersion in radioactive probes

so yeah, immersion in radioactive probes have to be after electrophresis
