can I study level 2 breadth in first year?

Yep, you can take on lvl 3 breadths if you can satisfy the prerequisites. Only reason theyre called breadths is to signify roughly how many pre-requisites subjects at lower levels needed in order to satisfy the admission criteria (ie. lvl 2 subject "y" needs at least a pass in a level 1 subject "x").

You have to do 50 points of Level 1 first, so in semester 2.
2009 ENTER: 99.05
2014: BSci Hons (Microbiology/Immunology) at UoM
2015+: PhD (Immunology) at UoM
