Engineering/Law Unit Enrolment Help

Hey guys,

Just wondering, how I go about selecting subjects for Law and Eng for first year. I had a look at the handbook and it looks like I can only select two compulsory units for Law. Is that right? I'm so confused.

Cheers

first semester ILR+Contract A
second semester RAW + Contract B

or you can choose crim A/B or torts A/B instead of contracts but ILR/RAW are compulsory since they are pre-reqs for every other law subject

Can contract A be done in a separate year to contract B?

Sorry, I must clarify. It says I can only do two law subjects for the whole year. So IRL and RAW. Why is that? And it says I choose between 3 or 4 law first year electives. If I choose to do 3, can I then opt for another Law subject?

Wait, I'm confused as to what you're asking

Contract A is a pre-requisite for Contract B. I suppose you could do contract A in semester 1 one year, and contract B in semester 2 next year, but I have no idea why you'd do that because you'd forget everything you learned.

I'm assuming the eng/law first year course plan stipulates that you need 3 eng and 1 law, prolly cos of pre-req requirements for engineering, but I don't know anything about that

Okay, that's what I thought about contract A and B. Well this is the link for course requirements for Law/Eng. http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/2013handbooks/courses/0094.html

It says that for first year. I have two compulsory Law units and two compulsory Engineering units. It then says I choose 3-4 other first year Engineering units.

My question is, do I have to follow that, or could I do three engineering units and then select another law unit, instead of doing 4 engineering units? Hopefully that makes more sense?

You'd have to ask the engineering faculty about that, since you're basically asking if you can depart from the engineering course plan. Law is quite relaxed about the order you do subjects in as long as you get all your pre-reqs in order.
