My English Language teacher will hate me and wish that the holidays never ended.

On Saturday, he told me not to email him any more work until today. That doesn't mean I still can't do any. I did an essay and an analysis on both of today and on Saturday and did two essays and two analyses yesterday for a grand total of eight equivalents of essays to hand in tomorrow (I haven't decided if I want to do anymore tonight). He's going to get eight pieces of work from me at once tomorrow :D I hope he has fun correcting

Question, is anyone else at the stage where they'd rather skip class and do study alone? My spares are so productive but my revision classes are so slow paced I want to hit myself in the face repetitively :(

I think we have this discussion every year on AN, but from another point of view, shouldn't hanging out with your friends be a very good reason to go to school? That was motivation enough for me to go to school. Even once we didn't have formal classes anymore, it was worth going in because there were a bunch of people that'd be studying; without having classes to attend, it was a fairly casual and reasonably relaxed atmosphere so it was good fun.

It might differ a bit school to school, but I'd assume for the majority of people you'd have known your friends for 6 years or so. Perhaps less than 6 if you've moved around schools a bit or if you have friends were the one that transferred to your school, or perhaps more than 6 if you've known some of your friends for longer than high school. There's probably a couple of teachers that you might have gotten to know pretty well too.

But at this period of the year, school is coming to an end. It's quite likely you won't see a lot of the people you've gotten to know regularly, if at all. People might head off to do their various things in life, go to different unis to you, move out of the area and so on. Even if you are going to the same uni and even the same course as a bunch of your friends, you might not be seeing them 5 days a week and in most classes like you do during school.

Exams might be the most important priority, but I think it's good to take advantage of the few weeks you do have left of school.

Oh, sure. If someone loves their friends and wants to go to school, ofc go to school. I was getting the vibe that friends weren't relevant and people were thinking about what's most effective. If someone only cares about effectiveness, and they're more effective at home, then there's no reason not to skip. If the last few weeks are important to you for reasons other than study, then go for sure.

I went to every day in Term 4, no regrets at all (well I only missed school if physics was on or if I was sick) :) Some of my best memories are from that last week or so, good times and strongly recommend everyone to go :) I'd take those weeks over the possible 0.1 extra ATAR (if that) I may have gotten any day, memories like that last forever whilst an ATAR only lasts for a couple of months before no-one cares about it anymore.

Just struck me that I have less than two weeks of actual school left. Damn, crazy thought. Time flew. I remember telling MJRomeo81 that term 3 was going to be the slowest term in my life and it was actually the fastest, faster than primary school terms, now it's the beginning of term 4.

And this is why...being that one guy on the table who always has his books studying is a good thing. No need to worry about losing any friends I may have met :D

Hey guys, so I just got back my trial exams and such and am now in the midst of doing hardcore revision, but what I find is that I feel that I don't know anything and am having trouble with doing some questions. My question is, is it okay to feel like this? and how do you deal with improving and revising without feeling like a failure because you don't have everything down pat yet. What has been going on my mind is the mantra of 'ten times harder' ;P and that has kept me going...anyway, help!

Hey :) I can totally relate. Initially, I wasn't achieving the exam scores I wanted. I felt so hopeless! But just remember its definitely normal to feel like that! Just believe in yourself & have faith that it will all work out!

Also, it may not seem like a lot, but there is still a fair bit of time! :) You can do it!
