Pretty sure we consume carbohydrates not make them.

What are you trying to ask, what kind of answer are you after? A little bit of context would be good.

This is a very general question, plants can make carbohydrates through photosynthesis, animals can make carbohydrates through gluconeogenesis, carbohydrates can be made in a lab and is present in many types of foods including fruits, potatoes and stuff such as rice...etc.

Can you explain the difference between "made" and "assembled"?

Glucose is made in the chloroplasts when photosynthesis occurs. I don't know where monosaccharides are turned into polysaccharides though.

Are you talking about glycogen synthesis? Happens in smooth ER. Dw too much about it, highly doubt they'd ask that.

We don't make them, we consume them and absorb them ready made. :)
We can convert between monosaccharides as well, I don't know where exactly in the cell it is - it was definitely not something I knew when I did bio. :)

Monosaccharides such as glucose and fructose are products of photosynthesis so they are made in chloroplasts. Glucose can be converted to another monosaccharide called galactose.

i know that i dont need to know I'm just curious now :)
so would you say that carbs are made in the chloroplasts as well as being assembled in the golgi ?

I think you could say that the chloroplasts synthesise carbohydrates from simple inorganic matter and the Golgi apparatus takes the simple carbohydrates produced by the chloroplasts and converts them into complex carbohydrates.
