Is chapter 2 maths methods important except for the part of matrices needed for families of functions/transformations, like A^- stuff like that and 4*3 +5*5 matrix stuff like that

I've got the somewhat older (not 'Enhanced') edition of that textbook. Definitely do 2E and 2F (matrix arithmetic and simultaneous equations with two variables). It's good to know how to solve simultaneous equations with more than two variables as well, which is in 2G. I don't remember seeing a question on it in past exams, but I might be wrong.
