I've only been there for a month but it's a good atmosphere over here. You have your dodgy teachers (I won't name them but there are a few) but I haven't had a problem over here.
I can say that quite a few people in my year were rejected applicants from MHS/Mac.Rob (just the general conversation starter during Camp [E.g Did you try out for MHS/Mac.Rob in Year 8]) though we do have a few kids from Nossal and Mac.Rob at JMSS funnily enough so in that case the level of 'elite' is slightly lower (you would expect) but it's still a good school nonetheless.
