Hey everyone!

Hope your Unit 3/4 journey with VCE Biology has been bearable until now. :P

I was hoping to get some advice from you guys, on whether I should start making my official and well detailed notes for SAC's + Exam from the Nature of Biology Textbook or the Biozone Powerpoints? Which would be a better source? Let me know your insight :)

Thanks! And good luck with your 1st SAC!

I personally rewrite/draw a summed up chapter of notes...This helps ALOT (in my case anyway)
I also have the biozone workbook (excellent detail when something might not be covered in your textbook that greatly)

Biozone powerpoint? not workbook?

I'd say Nature of Biology 2 is an excellent resource for you to gather the fundamental aspects of all topics and delve into the topics an appropriate amount. I personally believe that there is a lot of information that is completely unnecessary, however in saying that, Nature of Biology is an excellent textbook to formulate your notes using that as a basis.

Biozone is an excellent way for you to perhaps increase your knowledge of a few topics (e.g. Water has a very dipole nature - it is able to dissolve many polar solutes in polar solvents because it has oxygen atoms that are slightly negative areas and 2 hydrogen atoms that are slightly positively charged). Don't get stressed if there is something you don't quite understand from Biozone, because it has been adjusted so that the topics discussed suit the whole Australian curriculum of Yr 12 Biology - hence, it isn't called VCE Biozone. :)

I'm not quite sure, our teacher chucks on the Biozone powerpoints up and uploads them after class onto Edmodo which we can check out at home (illegal work at its best :P). They are probably derived from the workbook I guess?

Awesome! Appreciate your insight :) I'll get started with making notes from the textbook, and have a look on the Biozone ppts to revise a concept or two :)

I initially hated Biozone, but it's a great resource to use once you're familiar with all the concepts introduced in Nature of Biology. Don't work through it beforehand like I was.
