How are you guys preparing for this first SAC ? It's pretty early in the term as well, earlier than all my other sacs by a long stretch.

As with any legal SAC just do as many questions as you can and get your teacher to mark them so you can refine your technique.
Also do questions from topics with different marks eg. separation of powers question for 3 marks or for 6 marks. This way you learn what the essential knowledge is that needs to be in any separation of powers question and what is extra and only in a longer style question.

If your teacher isn't willing to mark all your questions post them here and ill be willing to look at them or PM me. :)

Adding on to what michak said, answer what's there NOT what you hope the question to be. I believe a common mistake students make is that they don't answer/address the question properly. It's pretty basic stuff, but you can lose cheap marks because of it. I would also spend time practicing bigger-mark questions (i.e. 10-mark, 8-mark questions), even starting from AOS 1 Unit 3, because this sets down a solid foundation (or, structure if you like) for other big-mark questions you will get as you progress through the course.

I would concur with previous posts in that generally, content is not the major difficulty, especially for U3 AOS1 (obviously some parts require a bit more work than others). However, as previously stated, refining exam technique for Legal Studies will serve you well. In particular, look out for words like evaluate, critically analyse etc. as those often tend to trip people up in the first SAC especially simply because they don't fully appreciate what those words imply (I speak from personal experience on this one).

Anyway, I've put together an area of study summary on my website if you find it helpful:
