Because I said so. :P On a serious note due to the science section taking close to 3 hours in comparison to the other two sections.

Yeah but it's not a university or high school academic exam - so proportion of time is not really as relevant in weighting. The weighting is about desired competencies. Whether or not the GAMSAT can actually test the desired competencies at all is another debate altogether, but I think equal weighting is at the very least no more or less valid than double weighting SIII in terms of selecting "the right applicants".

In my experience, people who perform really well in sections I & II, but weaker in SIII are still good candidates.
