Is this bad?

I use the chapter reviews in my Essentials textbook for SAC revision. My first SAC is next Wednesday covering chapters 1-4 and while I think I have a fairly good grasp on the content, I find the extended response section really difficult. I know it's because my problem-solving ability and overall algebra skills are a bit lacking, despite understanding the theory quite well. I generally have only few problems with the multiple choice and short answer questions. Anyway, I was wondering if not being able to complete the extended response questions very proficiently is a bad thing.

The extended response in Essentials are pretty damn hard to do so don't feel down if you cant figure things out right away.

I thought so. I know most people in my class can't do them. I find that if I look just at the very start of the worked solution in the solution supplement, I can figure it out from there. That probably illustrates my weak problem-solving skills.

I personally think they are a bit harder than the VCAA content I've seen, but I can't speak for your school's SACs though.

VCAA content these days is pretty easy, even MQ pulls out harder questions imo.

If it makes you feel any better, I've just done my first Spec SAC on Chapters 1-4, and compared to the Essentials, it was a joke. I managed to get through all of Ch 1, 3 and 4 chapter reviews, but it was a marathon.
Don't worry, you're not alone.
