NWC & ASC are fundamentally different in relation to how alert a person is to internal and external stimuli and the level of order, mindfulness and logic in one's thoughts, feelings and behaviour. They also differ in a few ways in terms of:
*Level of awareness/consciousness -> more awareness in NWC/Less in ASC (e.g. when people are intoxicated through alcohol or drugs they're not aware of the things around them and are more likely to have an accident or get injured)
*Perception of time -> strong perception of time in NWC/weakened perception of time in ASC (e.g. you might sleep and wake up and think you only slept for like 3 hours when in reality you slept for like 8!)
*Control of emotions -> more control in NWC/Less control in ASC (e.g. when someone is drunk, they might start crying or laughing uncontrollably)
*Sensitivity to external stimuli -> when you're in NWC you feel greater sensitivity to pain - i.e. if you get hurt, the feeling of pain would be immediately felt and  intense. / Dulling of feeling in ASC - people under the influence of alcohol or drugs might not feel pain as intensely as they would in NWC. So if they get injured whilst in that ASC, they would only really feel the effects of the pain when they return to NWC :)

print off a brain and be able to identify, label and describe what each area does/is responsible for. Also, know the structure of the nervous system (e.g. Central NS and Peripheral NS) and what each system does/is responsible for. that might be a good start!
