What are you up to?

With Term 1 about to come to a close, I thought it might be a good idea to create this thread so we can compare and reference how our cohorts are travelling. It might be useful to detect whether we're ahead or behind, relative to everyone else.

We have just started working through differential calculus (Chapter 6 of the Essentials textbook). We had our SAC covering Chapters 1-4 about three weeks ago.

Maths Quest, chapters 1, 3 and halfway 4. Honestly, I feel that my teacher progresses too slowly (albeit emphasises the importance of understanding before progressing).

Gonna try to get chapter 2 and part of 5 done in the holidays.

We've done Chapter 1,3,4 of Essential. And we're doing Chapter 2 now (Vectors)! But yea I feel we're travelling a bit slow like e^1  :-\ We've had an Item Response SAC as well, on Co-ord Geom & Trig  :)

We don't really work chapter by chapter in the textbook, but we just had an analysis task SAC on Thursday on Trigonometry 1 (stuff like double angle formulae), complex numbers and vectors.

Now we're doing trigonometry 2 (stuff like adding ordinates, drawing reciprocal graphs, cosec, sec, cot graphs, etc.)

Essentials textbook too btw

We have pretty much covered chapters 1,2,3,4 and 12 of the essentials book, but we have only done 1 SAC on chapter 4. We have a SAC on wednesday covering chapter 3.

Finished Chapters 1-5 from Maths Quest, going through exam style questions & such before our SAC (Next term on the first Thursday).
It seems some of you other guys have sacs for each chapter? or am I mistaken :s

Our teacher has given us a small SAC at the conclusion of each chapter. Apparently these count for 14% of our end of year SAC score all up (with the rest made up by the larger, multiple-chapter assessments). Is this not the case at other schools? The small SACs are generally easy, though, and seem to be more about making sure that we are keeping up with the course than ranking us as a cohort.

By the way, my spesh class has 5 people, is that small? aha.

Our spesh class has 10 people, the year before that there were 10 and 10 before that.
If they are small, the teacher would probably have more time to allocate to each student, so I guess that's kind of a plus :S

If it's any consolation, we have four people? :P

We've completed chapter 1, 2, 3, and soon 4 from Maths Quest. Again, I think we're a bit behind so might have to do a bit of self-study during the holidays. :/

We've finished chapters  1,2,3,4 and starting 9 (Vectors) from Maths Quest. However, only done 1 MC SAC.
Btw i'm thinking of buying essentials for some revision or extra questions (if i get around to it) , does anyone recommend doing this  :-\
