AFC1000 - Tutorials

Hey guys,

I have missed 2 tutorials already. I was wondering whether or not tutorial attendance is a hurdle requirement? (I need to attend X% of units to pass)

I have looked at the unit guide and it says that you only need to obtain a 50%+ on the exam, as the hurdle requirement.

I know tutorials count towards 5% of your overall mark (As 'group work').

Cheers

Check your unit guide.

Though it's pretty much rumored that if you attend all tuts and pass your assignment/tests (50%) but do shit in the exam they'll pass you with 50.

This isn't true, I aced my assignments but did shit in the exam and got a 48 fail.

Me toooooooo.

But I cant say I attended all my tutes, got lazy towards the end (which is probably what killed me in the exam ahaha)

But to answer OP, tute attendence isnt a Hurdle, as it says in the unit guide, only passing the exam is

Tutes are worth 15% all up
5% - Group work ('in class exercises')
10% - Preparation (tutor randomly checks your tute homework) & Participation (discussion in tutes etc.)

I attended just for the free marks. I reckon it's worth it - getting a free boost in your first year.

Isnt there the group presentation anymore? It was only worth 5% of the entire mark, but it counts I guess.

Not true haha. Attended all tutes, aced my assignment and test, failed the exam.

It's not a hurdle, but the 5% would help your overall average.
