I remember the chief assessor said himself: "Sophisticated and thoughtful responses to the topic and the text get rewarded" he also said that "Two students sitting next to one another both taking a different approach to the text could both achieve full marks, there is no correct answer".
Also I think exploring the text by yourself just allows you feel rewarded because you'd be amazed at how much you can draw out of these texts!
