Revive!

This board is much slower in 2013 than in 2012! I think it needs to revive.

The Constitution SAC should be coming up for most people, and it is worth half of the whole of Unit 3; it is also considered a difficult outcome. There should be questions!

I can guarantee that almost every sub-topic in your notes could be tweaked by someone else to make it better, more detailed or more correct. You'd be amazed at some of the common misunderstandings! No-one wants to spend half an hour of their time writing someone else's answer for them, so please don't just post a question and ask people to tell you how to answer it...

...BUT!

If you put down a difficult question and suggest how *you* think it should be answered, or post a sample answer you have written, it's much easier to get a collaborative discussion going on it. Or just copy in a section of your notes you think are a bit gappy or perhaps have some dodgy content, and we can work together to make it better.

Keep in mind that the average mark for the exam is around 35/70... complacency is evil!!

I heard that other schools had their SAC split into two, i.e. one for protection of rights (25 marks) and one for constitution (25 marks). Meanwhile we have ours combined into one SAC worth 50 marks :O . Does that make a huge difference in terms of difficulty?

Yes, a bit - but nothing really worth worrying about, since it's your school ranking that counts and everyone at your school is going to be subjected to the same level of difficulty :)

It just means there's more to remember in one sitting - but you have to know everything for the exam anyway!

On the bright side, it also means you have more of a chance to be flexible with your timing of questions - you have more opportunity to speed up on the basic content questions and devote the extra time to the more difficult discussion-style questions. People with shorter SACs can't do that :)

Megan, do you teach at a school?

Very keen to see the revival of this thread :). Legal Studies is an excellent subject. Just because it makes "The Castle" funnier, if nothing else.

Aah yes... the tricky Constitution Topic of Unit 3. Everyone in my class seems to be having trouble with it! I am also struggling a little bit, but when I do, I just ask for help and revise more on my weak points. I was thinking about posting some practise exam questions and answers on the board as well as some notes to help other people out.

To the students who are not liking this area of study much, keep in mind that this is one of the hardest parts of the course and the areas to come will be a bit easier to understand!  :)
