So i stuffed up on national politics last year due to me misreading questions. I'd received a score of 31 I'd studied harder than my friends who'd scored really well.  So now I have developed a fear of failure which has led me to partially give up .how do I overcome it?

Well observe your mistakes and fix them. So you misread the question, so I would say you should go back and every time you do questions, read them carefully and throughly highlighting the key points (e.g. discuss, show that, etc.). You get rid of the fear by understanding the coursework (through and solid revision) secondly do a lot of practice examination questions both from VCAA sources and third party sources (TSSM, Insight, NEAP, A+, etc.)
That's how I would think you could do it!
Also keep a log of mistakes you make to ensure you don't make them again and then also write down what you're doing write to keep you motivated! Don't just focus on what you are doing wrong but also emphasize what you are doing right! Highlight difficult questions so that you can come back and do them again- to determine whether or not you can do it after forgetting it!
I hope that helped!  :)

Hey:
firstly there is no way you could go forward dwelling in the past. in this case you know why you did not as well as you wanted to - from misreading questions. although this cost your desirable result, please see this as a learning experience. there is no 'easy' way to overcome this fear of failure, but partially giving up will not help the problem.
what i am trying to say is you have to move on, and learn from past experiences using them to your advantage in the future. if your one who is having great aims or expectations regretting what occurred in the past will not help your performance now which will lead to where you want to be.

best of luck, take care, and i wish you best in your future endeavours.
