the amount of theory we should have done by now?
Merlyn:
This board seems kind of dead... but I'm going to ask anyway, just in case there are lurkers like me here, haha.
So my teacher has been horrible. We've done no theory what so ever, and the teacher seems to be too relaxed about all this. The only thing she says in class is, "well get on with your thing." And then we just work on our folios throughout. I'm not quite familiar with the course, so I'm not sure if she's teaching it right. But I'm wondering if it would be too late to cram all the theory into the final weeks of term 3, because that's what she's planning on doing.

So far, we've gone over some basics (art elements) and now we're up to learning the artists (Del Kathryn Barton and Frida Kahlo). Otherwise, we barely have done any theory at all. I'm not even completely sure what we have to learn before the exams :/
EDIT: Who else does Studio Arts!?
Merlyn:
artists? What do you need to know about them? :o

Not too sure, but I think in general: their history, artworks and their ideas/inspiration/influences.
Yendall:
Try to dedicate a certain amount of time a week (say, 2 hours?) to reading the past exams and studying how to interpret art and explain it through the principles and elements of art. If you don't know your elements and principles of art, get on that now.
Learn about your artists and their history and try to write essays about them! There are some essay questions on VCAA through the past exams.
If you have any queries post them up and i'll try and help!
