Does anyone have a technique for these type of questions?

hi,

I know how to do this but they way i do it takes way too long, I do them by trial and error and it takes much longer than i think it should. I am referring to questions that ask for the shortest hamilton Circuit or the shortest circuit that uses all roads ( not a Euler Circuit). So i am wondering if their is any technique or anything to look out for.

Thanks

Trial and error pretty much...

Unless you do those little house things, but that is time consuming.

Networks sucks

I can't understand why things like that should be on the course (never having done further (the subject) but having done plenty of *further* mathematics) - since solving the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelling_salesman_problem is known to be computationally very difficult. Indeed, if you had an efficient (polynomial) algorithm for doing so, you would be able to claim a million dollar prize - http://www.claymath.org/millennium/P_vs_NP/

Good to see I'm not the only person who thinks this type of question is stupid
