Hey guy, I've got my application task coming up and I've got some pracitce questions that are apparently "similar" to the real SAC. If anyone could please help me with these questions it would be much appreciated. Sorry its so much, but this is just ONE question from the practice SAC I've been given. I've attempted some, but would like someone to work through theses so I can make corrections ect.
1. When Vacuum packed, 500 grams of ground coffee takes up a volume of 990cm^3. Starbuck is desining a new style of package that is to be a rectangular prism.
a). The rectangular prisim has a base whos dimensions are to be golden rectangles. THis means that the width is x cm and the length is p.x cm, where P= (1+ the sqaure root of 5) divided by 2. Show algebraically that the height of the prism is given by the expression
h= 990/p.x^2
I wrote that since LxWxH=volume , then H = Volume/LxW , and since the volume is 990, and w=x and L= p.x, therefore h= 990/p.x^2
b). Now list the expressions for all three dimensions of the prism in terms of x.
-here i just re-arranged the quations and solved for the dimension they asked for.
L=volume/LxH w= Volume/L /h H=990/p.x^2
Sorry about posting a bulk of the questions, but if anyone could double check the above that would be great, if I know the above is correct I should be able to solve the rest.
