We did a experiment on hookes law and young modulus. The usual hang mass on hook which is stuck on to a rubber band. From this we need to calculate the extension, k stress and strain and young modulus. The graphs for our hookes law and young modlus are the same shape by this i mean linear. So how do i explaing why the graphs are linear for young modulus ?

You know that F = -kx. Use the definitions of stress and strain, and the formula, to show that stress = constant x strain. That'd explain why the graph is linear.
